Reason #11
Only the Owner Knows.
“It is the owner of the house who knows where the roof leaks.” - This proverb is the African equivalent of the English proverb: "Only the wearer knows where the shoe pinches."
I prefer it in Spanish: “Solo el dueño de la casa sabe dónde están las goteras.”
Only the one experiencing knows best what is happening.
The only way we can understand fully is to "step into their shoes," i.e., to see things from the person’s perspective.
I’ve written 100 reasons why I’m becoming an artist again, but not to convince anyone what I am, but to remind myself I’m an artist.
And all these reasons are the 100 leaks I found on my rooftop.
By writing and sharing them, I’m patching them up.
