Reason #16
I lost myself.
In 2015, I lost myself creating a series of drawings called #sentīre.
During the brink of winter, I spent 3 months in the tiny room of my tiny NYC apartment.
I found the darkness inside of me dense and inescapable.
I embraced it; I embraced the depths of uncontrollable thoughts and the consequence of stagnation in a dark room with only paper and charcoal.
I converted the drawings into scrolling canvases and explored the manifestations of anxiety - the notion of trying to contain inner turmoil creating visual rhythms and repetitions.
The caption of the collection was:
“What if it's only made to be experienced?”
